The psalmist asks, “What shall I return to the LORD for all his bounty to me?” (Psalm 116:12). The psalmist is not alone in asking this question. Many of us often find ourselves wondering, “What should I give? How much is enough?” Answers, even biblical answers, vary: The widow gave a penny (Mark 12:42); the Pharisees gave a tenth (Matthew 23:23); Zacchaeus gave half (Luke 19:8); the rich man was asked to give all (Mark 10:21-22). The early church shared everything in common (Acts 2:44-45; 4:32); Barnabas sold a field (Acts 4:37); Jesus’ disciples left their boats and nets (Mark 1:18,20). No matter the amount, the scriptures are clear that giving to God is a significant part of the life of faith.

First-Fruits Giving: First-fruits giving means setting our offerings as the highest priority in our financial decision-making. As a congregation, we will model first-fruits giving by writing the
first check of every month to meet our synod benevolence. This money supports state and national ministries of the NC Synod and the ELCA, such as camps, seminaries, missionaries and disaster relief. We will send to the NC Synod 10 percent of our income.
Giving Online: CTK makes electronic giving easy for you with the Simply Giving program. Whether you'd like to give a one-time gift, schedule recurring donations or view your giving history, you can do it all online. It's quick, easy and secure.
Giving online provides a method for you to conveniently, consistently and joyfully give your financial gifts to Christ the King whether you are in town to worship with us or away from home on vacation or business. We can process electronic funds transfers (EFTs) and credit card transactions. (Note: Donations made via credit card include a standard processing fee of 2.75-3.50%. This is the amount charged by the credit card processor. This means that the church does not receive the total amount of the transaction.)
Go to Simply Giving site to create a member ID to set up recurring donations and track your giving online. You may give a one-time gift without registering.
Endowment: Gifts from God enable us to annually support the mission of our church and other community programs. As faithful stewards of God's gifts, we are also reminded of the need to manage our accumulated, inherited and appreciated resources. In 1993, the congregation identified a need to encourage, receive and administer undesignated gifts in a perpetual manner that is consistent with the loyalty and devotion of our Lord and as expressed by grantors. Thus, an Endowment Fund was established. For more details about Endowment, visit the Endowment page.
