Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
– Psalm 119:105

Sunday School classes are offered mid-September through mid-May from 9:45-10:45 am. Each class follows a comprehensive curriculum, with the opportunity for music, Bible exploration, creative expression and discussion. Regular Sunday School classes are enriched by occasional special guests and intergenerational activities.
You may register your child at the Sunday School Office or by returning a registration form to the church office. Find your child's classroom on the CTK map (upstairs/downstairs).
About the classes
Age 2 through Kindergarten follows the “Spark” curriculum by Augsburg Fortress. This is a visually exciting program of foundational Bible stories that encourages interaction through a preschool-level Bible and activity sheets. To order your own Story Bible or learn more, visit activatefaith.org.
1st- through 5th-Grade Students grow in their faith journey through study using “Akaloo” curriculum by Augsburg Fortress. “Akaloo,” or follow me, explores concepts of our relationship with God, the church, and our world. Students discuss what the Bible is and use crafts, handbook guides and music to learn what it means to be a disciple.
Special Classes are also offered for this age group:
Holy Communion – Take 1
First Communion instruction is offered to 1st-graders (and those in higher grades who desire it) on two consecutive Sundays in March. All communing for the first time do so on Palm Sunday of Holy Week.
Holy Communion – Take 5
Holy Communion instruction for 5th-graders is a two day (overnight retreat) in-depth program during the spring that culminates in special recognition and the presentation of a congregational Bible on Maundy Thursday of Holy Week.
Sexuality Workshop
Fourth- and fifth-graders are invited to participate in an end-of-January session on the Christian view of the physical and emotional changes of puberty.
6th- and 7th-Grade Students follow a combination of custom-tailored and Lutheran confirmation-focused curriculum. "Here We Stand," a confirmation curriculum from Augsburg Fortress, is a source of discussion topics. Students learn the books of the Old and New Testaments, the Ten Commandments and who’s who in the Bible, and grow more comfortable with group activities exploring our beliefs. These classes also explore the belief systems of other religions, helping students talk about faith in enriching and engaging ways.
GraceLinks is CTK’s ministry of age-appropriate worship celebrations to connect your child to the church community and family of God.
