Christ the King has a long tradition of supporting refugee families in cooperation with Lutheran Family Services. Families we have sponsored include people from the Montagnard and Karen communities of Southeast Asia. As a community, we welcome these refugee families. We collect items to furnish their apartments and help them adjust to their new home country. Volunteers help our families learn English, find jobs, learn to drive, find doctors and figure out public transportation; take them to appointments; and tutor children. We, in turn, benefit by learning about the richness of different cultures.
