Congregational Council

The Congregational Council serves to the glory of God as your elected leaders. They are entrusted to have general oversight of the life and activities of this congregation, and in particular its worship life, to the end that everything be done in accordance to the Word of God and the faith and practice of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

The duties of the Congregational Council, like a Board of Directors, also are to lead this congregation in mission, long-range planning; to involve all members of this congregation in worship and service; to oversee and provide for the administration of this congregation; to maintain supportive relationships with the pastors and staff; to be examples of the style of life and ministry expected of all baptized persons; and to be responsible for the financial, including the annual budget, and property matters of this congregation, etc.

The Congregational Council members, except for the pastors, are elected by the congregation's members and generally serve for a three year term. Their tenure is arranged so that one-third of the terms expire annually.

The Congregational Council normally meets once a month, the second Sunday of the month, at 7:00 PM.
