Charter

This committee, of which the Treasurer shall be an ex-officio member, shall exercise oversight of all the financial affairs of the congregation, assuring they are being conducted efficiently. Duties of the committe include:

1. preparing, with input from standing committees, a proposed budget for the succeeding year, including this congregation's full indicated share in support of wider ministry being carried on in its behalf by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the synod;
2. submitting a proposed budget to the Congregational Council for its consideration at its September meeting and later presenting the budget at the congregation's annual meeting;
3. ensuring prompt payment of all obligations and the regular forwarding of benevolence monies to the synodical treasurer;
4. being responsible for the congregation's investments and of its total insurance program;
5. providing all pertinent records for annual audits of the treasurer; as well as of the accounts of the schools and organizations within the congregation to the Audit Committee as needed; and
6. ensuring accurate giving records are kept and quarterly statements made available to all members of the congregation.
