Social Ministry Committee
The Social Ministry Committee is responsible for organizing charitable
giving, directing volunteer involvement, and inspiring social advocacy
within the congregation. We follow the Biblical principles of helping
those in need, as the Gospel teaches to feed the hungry, clothe the naked,
visit the imprisoned, and help the helpless.

This committee extends Christian compassion and helpfulness to the ill,
the aged, the underprivileged, the imprisoned, and in general to persons
of all ages in need of aid in body or soul. It shall strive to enlist
in these efforts as many individual members and organizations of the congregation
as possible. The committee's responsibilities shall include, but not be
limited to:

by joining other Lutheran churches in the Wake County area to provide
quality services to those in need;
- support Christian Community in Action by joining other Christians
in the Cary area to provide quality services to those in need;
- supporting families in need by overseeing parish outreach;
- extending Christian compassion by working with organizations, such
as, but not limited to CROP Walk, Habitat for Humanity, and Lutheran
World Relief;
- laying before the congregation ways to help those in prison; and
- study social conditions to bring the cleansing and healing light of
Christian truth and then laying before the Congregational Council proposals
for action resulting from such study and discussion.
