Senior High Youth Group

This active group is for all those in 9th through 12th grades.  The HSYG provides an amazing opportunity for the youth to stay plugged into the church even after confirmation.  Youth are involved in a wide variety of activities here, including youth bands, youth choir, Bible study, service projects and retreats.  Meetings are every Sunday night from 7:00-8:30pm. Youth Group evenings include games, worship, team building activities, and devotions.  Our youth also attend the ELCA National Youth Gatherings (most recently in Atlanta in 2003 & San Antonio in 2006), an annual Kure Beach Retreat, a fall Lutherock retreat, and Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) and Teens Encounter Christ (TEC) retreats.

There are several lock-ins during the school year, including one each Spring where the youth plan the "Youth Sundays" services (one Sunday for traditional worship and one for our ABC worship) in which the youth lead the service.

During the summertime, the youth stay connected with their CTK friends through Bible Study, cookouts, the occasional "ice cream & a movie" night, and, this past year, a church-wide "Music Fest" family dinner, followed by a High School lock-in.
