WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America)

Mission

To mobilize women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ. We welcome all women to attend any meeting or event.

Circles

The heart of WELCA is the circle. Each circle selects its own course of study and service projects. Many circles go for coffee or lunch after meetings for additional fellowship. The WELCA circles are:

Esther Circle

Esther Circle has Bible study as its center. Opportunities for service come both within the congregation and in the world around us. We join together in sharing joys and struggles of daily life as well as shared faith. Our goal is to nurture the individual spiritual growth of each member.

Grace Circle

Grace Circle is made up, for the most part, of women with teen age children or empty nests, who have jobs outside the home. Our monthly programs are varied and include discussions of Bible studies, current events, church history, sermons, travel, and books. We carry out at least one service project per year and have two social events. We come together for fellowship, support, and spiritual growth.

Joy Circle

Joy Circle was formed in 1976 and chose the name Joy because it typified the attitude of our members. We meet for fellowship, a short Bible study taken from the Lutheran Women Today magazine, and refreshments. We enjoy working on several service projects throughout the year.

Lydia Circle

Lydia Circle is a circle of women who enjoy sharing and supporting each other no matter where we are in our life and faith journeys. We strive to learn more about God's will for us through study of his word and prayer. We encourage each other in our spiritual growth and serve the community with annual projects.

Martha Circle

Martha Circle meets for study and fellowship during the traditional school year calendar. We pick a variety of material to base our Bible studies on. Our service projects focus on both local and global needs. An optional lunch frequently follows the meeting for additional fellowship.

Rachel Circle

Rachel Circle is a group of women ranging in ages from mid-twenties to late forties. We participate in WELCA-sponsored service projects and have some Rachel Circle service projects. Programs vary from meeting to meeting. In August we have a dinner party where husbands/guests are invited.

Rachel Circle meets quarterly.
